About the main characters.

Eddie Morra-the mainest character-used to be very poor and unorganized writer for a local publishing agency. But it was before he started to take NZT. After that he seems to be the cleverest person ever.
Very charming, smart and purposeful. But, unfortunately it isn't his natural qualities.

Lindy-Morra's girlfriend. Very ambitious woman, but a bit conservative, because she was refusing to take NZT for a long time even when her life was in danger. In fact, she doesn't love "old" Eddie. She even breaks with him, but they are starting to date again after his misterious (for her) change.

Carl van Loon-Eddie's employer-the director in one of the world's biggest financial companies. An old soldier lives like he is still in a war. Thinks that life is struggle. He has achieved his post without any help. He guesses, that Eddie's gift has not natural origin, but doesn't pay any attention to it while Eddie helps him to get money.

Dear, Alan Glynn, to start with, I'd like to say that I really apreciate your book.

 The first thing that I like is that the book shows all the problems we have in our modern society. That is very important for me to understand that the main character is like the real person-like you and me.

He has a lot of addictions and difficulties with work, with money and many others. And after taking NZT he becomes like a superhero. What did I like else-is that effect of the drug is scientifically proved.

  The thing that I didn't like is that the novel isn't instructive. The main character doesn't understand that his actions were wrong. Quite the cotrary, he makes his career due to NZT and finds the way how to make the effect eternal. 

  So, Mr. Glynn, if I were you I would just change the ending and nothing else. If the hero realized that his actions were wrong he would become a role model for our generation.

Some kind of analysis

   I don't think, that this book will become an integral part of our culture, but we can see the most common problem of our society-taking drugs. Of, course, "NZT" is not just a drug in the meaning, in that we got used  to take it. It's some kind of dope that stimulates our brain. But as drug it has one side effect: you would die anyway, if you took a pill once.
   This book doesn't teach you. It doesn't teach you that drug taking is bad; doesn't teach you how to act in such kind of situation. It's just adventure novel.
   To make this book better, I would change the ending: in the original Eddie just finds the way how to make the effect of ''NZT'' eternal. I would make Eddie understand that he is clever enough to do without ''NZT'' and find some kind of antidote. Then, may be, the book would be taken much seriously. 

Of course, no, cause only Eddie knows that Vernon couldn't cook and finds the drugs in the oven, right before the police comes.
After this his life changes completely and even seems to become wondrful: he puts up with his girlfriend, finds new friends, where he becomes the centre of the company. Suddenly, he comes to realization what he hs to do.
 He decides to work with actions, but to start up an enormous sum of money is needed. He gets 100 thousand dollars from some kind of criminal. But hadn't he better stop?

... next day after understanding that the effect disappered, he goes to his brother-in-law to get more so called medicine. When Vernon opens the door Eddie notices cut and bruises on Vernon's head. Vernon says at last that it's really drugs, but not medicine that "guys from the kitchen" call NZT. But Eddie doesn't mind he extremly needs this pills. Vernon gives some little orders to Morra, such as... buy some food. 

 When he returns he finds Vernon killed and his flat turned upside down. Eddie realizes that killer or killers  wanted to find NZT, but did they really manage to do this?

the plot of the first several chapters

Edward Morra, who is better known as Eddie among his so called friends, is an American writer. He lives in NEW YORK CITY. He is about to meet the deadline to turn in his new book, but he has a problem-he didn't even start to write it.

One day he meets his ex-wife's brother, who's name is Vernon. In his teens Vernon was a kind of drug dealer.

After a long and awkward conversation Vernon tells that he has a medicine, that has already passed all the tests and about to appear on the drug store's shelfs. He insists that this medicine will help Eddie to overcome all the difficulties he has with his book. After thinking a little Eddie swallows this pill and starts to see the world in a different way, having come home he finishes his book in one day and hands it in much earlier the daedline....
